Mission Statement
This department is responsible for the collection and disposal of solid waste generated by the residents and businesses in the city of Silsbee. Operational requirements are set forth by Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in their rules and regulations.

Description
This Department is responsible for the Collection of solid waste by utilizing collection dumpsters of various sizes. Also the city runs a convenient Collection Station on Hwy. 418 (at the old landfill site) where residents can haul trash off and put it in a roll off Container(s). The solid waste is transported to a permitted landfill site and disposed.

Goals

1. To Provide prompt and efficient service to our residents and customers.

2. To provide collection, transportation and disposal of residential and commercial refuse for the city of Silsbee in the most cost-efficient methods possible.

3. To promote health and safety to the community by providing an environment free from hazards and unpleasantness of uncollected refuse with the least possible inconvenience to the citizens.

4. To meet and comply with regulatory of State and Federal Agencies.

Objectives

1. To continue to provide the Residents and Commercial accounts with the best service at the lowest cost to the city of Silsbee.

2. To monitor the Services provided to ensure appropriate and timely handling of collection.

3. To investigate city complaints concerning collection service to ensure maximum service with the least complaints possible.

4. To promote and educate our customers on proper disposal of all solid waste.
