Mission Statement
To provide a safe and healthy environment for the citizens of Silsbee by efficiently controlling and regulating animals within the City.

Description
Presently the city employs one animal control officer who primarily works and is dispatched by the Public Works Department. The animal control officer is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the city owned newly renovated animal holding facility.

Goals
It is the goal of the animal control department to effectively enforce all city ordinances governing animals within the City. This enforcement will provide the citizens of Silsbee with a safe and healthy environment regarding animals.

Objectives
As the community's needs change so do the ordinances and methods of enforcement. To have an effective program of animal control it becomes important that the animal control officer stay up to date on the latest rules, regulations and methods of his job. It is through his continued training that this will be accomplished.
